Chestnut stain is applied with black glaze, and random nicks, dents and dings are applied to the wood substrate with small randomly grouped holes, simulating bird pecking. Profiles and corners are sanded down to create a worn edge appearance. Sanding through a layer of the finish coat to expose another finish layer or wood substrate creates a rub through effect. The glaze will adhere to these areas, causing the edges to appear darker. A matte finish is applied, completing the look.
